The London Eye Mystery
Protagonist Motivation
Ted is one of the protagonists in the story. This is becuase Ted is a good child. After meeting Salim for one day he loved him. When Salim ran away Ted wanted to do anything in his power to find Salim and return him home safely and alive. As quoted on page 191, "Depending on how you look at it." Ted looks at things very differently then other people, this is why he is so good at solving mysteries.
Antagonist Motivation
Marus is the antagonist in this story. He wanted him and Salim to run away together. Marcus, Salim's "evil" friend, wanted them to fun away and be "mosher" together or causally cool dudes. If Marcus hadn't come up with this evil plan Salim would be safe at home with his mom headed off to New York.
Somebody, wanted, but, so summary
Salim and his mother wanted to start a new life in New York City but after stopping at Ted's, Salim's cousins house, Salim and his friend Marcus decided to run away together becuase Marcus didnt want Salim to leave so they ran away and cuased stress for everyone, after many days of searching they finally found Salim at the top of a building thanks to Ted.
Conflicts
Person vs. Self - This is because Ted had to go against himself by figuring out which theroy was right and which was wrong.
Person vs. Person - This is becuase Ted and Cat went head to head to see who was right while solving the mystery.
Person vs. Society - This is becuase when Salim went missing Salim's parents involded the police and media.
Person vs. Fate - This is becuase if Ted didnt find Salim, Salim would most likely be still trapped in the building.
Climax
The climax in the novel is when Salim is found. Ted uses his unique brain to figure out where Salim is. Ted realizes that things look differently the way you look at it. Ted solved the mystery when he realized that. He had been looking at everything the way everyone looks at everything. He decided he had to "read in between the lines". Ted thought Salim was facing toward Manhatten, staring at it. However, Salim wasnt. He was facing towards a big towerr block, the barracks. Salim liked tall buildings, and the veiws you could see when you got to the top of them. Salim wanted to go into the Barracks to get a quick look butsince the barracks were being knocked down the next day they had been locked up with Salim inside. The building was locked. No one could get in or out. Salim was trapped.
Resolution
The resolution in the book is when Salim and Gloria leave for New York. It is just liked they plan to do. There was a happy ending. Salim was found alive and now they are headed off to New York
